    Description

An original 1939 program for Ethel Waters in "Mamba's Daughters" at the Grand Opera House in Chicago. The program includes a great photograph of the play in performance.
Waters was the first black woman to integrate Broadway, the first black woman to star in her own TV show
    (The Ethel Waters Show)
, the first black woman to star in a TV series, and much more. "Mamba's Daughters" was a Broadway play that explored racial boundaries in South Carolina. A dramatic sequence from this play was performed on The Ethel Waters show, adding to Waters' firsts.
About 7" x 9 1/2", 12 pages. Fair / Good condition with a great front cover with only minor soiling and a torn/stained partial back cover. Inside, the pages are relatively bright and the spine is still tight. Displays well.
