Comes with original unclipped dust jacket which has an illustration of "Bonny Squirrel" on the front cover and a photo of Bernice Driskell Smith on the back cover. Stated First Edition published in 1980 by Vantage Press, New York City. . Written and signed in four places by Bernice Driskell Smith. One of the signatures is for an inscription to a "Mrs. Eleonar Jean Hendley" .Forty pages.
From the front inner flap: " Mrs. Boyertte, we are told by Bernice Driskell Smith, spent some of her year in the North, where she taught school. The part of the year she spent in the South she wrote stories for children. It was at her retreat in sunny Florida that she made the acquaintance of Bonny Squirrel". The book tells of the lovely  friendship between teacher and squirrel.Illustrated.
The book itself is in very good condition. Binding is tight. Very little wear to the boards
. Corners are square. The interior pages are clean and bright and free of marks (other than signatures and inscription) or creases. The dust jacket is in good + (plus) condition. No tears, chips or marks. It is unclipped. Light soiling at the bottom of the front cover. Shipping is free for domestic first class mail with delivery tracking.
